Daughter of Christian Coissieux, founder of L’École des Céramistes, Ariane grew up surrounded by clay and kilns. After completing a DEUG in Biology and a four-year apprenticeship alongside her father, she has dedicated her life to ceramics and education since 1994.

A traveler with an open mind to the world, Ariane participates in international events and gives lectures around the globe. Her signature glazes—”drops of light” Tenmokus, Celadons, Iron Reds, Juns, and Copper Reds—are featured in numerous private and public collections worldwide. She travels regularly to Asia, particularly China and Taiwan, back to the origins of Song dynasty ceramics and high-fire glazes. Her glaze research feeds on local rocks and repurposed waste materials.

For over 10 years, she served as an examiner on the CAP Ceramics exam board and contributed to drafting the exam papers. Named Master Artisan (Maître Artisan d’Art) in 2009—after fifteen years of close father-daughter collaboration—she continues to forge a rigorous yet supportive pedagogy, centered on each student’s project.

Her Goal: Empowering each student to achieve genuine professional autonomy as quickly as possible.
