I often teach student groups of very different learning levels in the field of throwing, as well as mixed cultural
backgrounds.
It's a pedagogical situation I'm used to.
When I selected the students for this year's session, I was sure that this situation would benefit all the students.
The bet has been won !!
After 2 weeks of intense training, everyone has made huge improvements.
My motto is to always go as far as possible with each student, according to his or her ceramic background and current
possibilities.
As soon as the sun shows up, the terrace is buzzing with life ...

Over the past 30 years, I have trained many students for the CAP (apprenticeship diploma), always with 100% pass rate.
I've guided them from beginners all the way to become ceramics craftsmen and artists.
For many years, I was part of the CAP examination boards, so I know the subject very well.
Since recently, this same teaching practice requires a consistent administrative maze to allow our students to use
their CPF financial rights to prepare this diploma.
We have finally succeeded in crossing this hurdle. Champaign !!!

Throwing freely & respecting your body!
As a result of improper posture, some potters develop pains over the years, for instance in their back and neck.
This tension is not necessary.
The throwing techniques we practise and teach at the Ceramics School are all about freedom of movement. It seeks
relaxation while respecting the body in the long term.
Even to shoot ‘heavy weights’, you don't need to look like Schwarzenegger, or strain your back.
It's more a question of using the strength of the wheel, and adding our own strength to it. The key is to find the
right balance of pressure.
To do that, you have to discover your own gravity centre. Where do you think it is?
The body, the breath, the hands, the wheel, the clay: dance your pots!

Our resolutions for 2025
We are launching a new and innovative way of studying for the CAP. The aim is to help all students who wish to do so to
prepare for the CAP in throwing. The credo is: the best possible training conditions, without wasting time, at an
affordable price.
